JENNY / HELL IN THE PACIFIC


This March, 1970 double-feature played both East Greenbush's Auto Vision Drive-in and Ballston Lake's Super 50. JENNY (1970) starred Marlo Thomas and Alan Alda; no known home video release. HELL IN THE PACIFIC (1968) was the John Boorman war setpiece with Lee Marvin and Toshirô Mifune.

INTERPLAY / THE CORPORATE QUEEN


January, 1971 double-feature at the Cinema Art in Troy. INTERPLAY (1970) was directed by Albert T. Viola, a year before he made PREACHERMAN. THE CORPORATE QUEEN (1969) was an Amero Brothers film with Janet Banzet. Neither film seems to have surfaced for home video. I like how WEST SIDE STORY was the matinee screening.

HOT MONEY GIRL (UK/West Germany: 1959, United Producers Releasing Organization: 1962) Alternate title for THE TREASURE OF SAN TERESA, an interesting-looking post-war crime/espionage film with Eddie Constantine, Dawn Addams, Nadine Tallier, and Christopher Lee doesn't seem to have been issued on VHS or DVD under either title.
4. WILD IS MY LOVE (1963, William Mishkin Motion Pictures Inc.) Looks like a JD flick with jiggly strippers; no VHS or DVD.
5. SCHOOL FOR LOVE (France: 1955, National Telefilm Associates: 1960) US version of Futures vedettes, featuring a brunette Brigitte Bardot who makes it with a teacher; no known VHS or DVD release.

11. VOODOO VILLAGE (1958, Continental Distributing) Reissue title for SORCERER'S VILLAGE, a documentary about the occult traditions of the Ivory Coast, narrated by Burgess Meredith.

THE IMPOSSIBLE YEARS (1968) is a comedy based on a stage play, with David Niven; no DVD yet. THE RAVAGERS (1965) is an Eddie Romero war flick with John Saxon. DEADWOOD '76 (1965) is the James Landis western with Arch Hall Jr. COTTONPICKIN' CHICKENPICKERS (1967) is a country comedy with Mel Tillis; no DVD release.

COOL HAND LUKE (1967) is, of course, the Paul Newman prison classic. THE BALLAD OF CABLE HOGUE (70) is the Peckinpah western with Jason Robards.

A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS (1964) rounded out the evening.

HARD TRAIL / 5 BOLD WOMEN


Raleigh's Center Drive-in screened this adult double-feature back in January, 1971. HARD TRAIL was the X-rated version of Greg Corarito's sex-western HARD ON THE TRAIL (1971), with Monica Gayle, Bruce Kimball, and a duped Lash La Rue (!). 5 BOLD WOMEN was a 1960 western with Jeff Morrow and Merry Anders. Neither film has seen DVD yet.
